തെരുവിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞ 2000 പേരെ 'ഉദയം' പുനരധിവസിപ്പിച്ചു
കോഴിക്കോട്:രാജ്യത്തെ മാതൃകാപരമായ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം കാഴ്ച വെക്കുന്ന ഉദയം പദ്ധതിയെ കൂടുതല്‍ ആളുകളിലേക്കെത്തിക്കാനും ഉദയത്തിലെ അന്തേവാസികളുടെ ക്ഷേമത്തിനായി ധനസമാഹരണത്തിനും വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികളില്‍ സാമൂഹ്യപ്രതിബദ്ധത വളര്‍ത്താനുമായി ജനുവരി 31ന് 'തെരുവ് ജീവിതങ്ങളില്ലാത്ത കോഴിക്കോടിനായി ഒരു ദിവസം' ക്യാമ്പയിന്‍ നടത്തുമെന്ന് ജില്ലാ കലക്ടര്‍ സ്‌നേഹില്‍ കുമാര്‍ സിംഗ് വാര്‍ത്താ സമ്മേളനത്തില്‍ അറിയിച്ചു.
തെരുവ് ജീവിതങ്ങളില്ലാത്ത കോഴിക്കോടിനായി ധനസമാഹരണ ക്യാമ്പയിന്‍ വിജയമാക്കുന്നതിന് എല്ലാവരുടെയും സഹായസഹകരണമുണ്ടാവണമെന്നും കലക്ടര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ജില്ലയിലെ 150 ഓളം ക്യാമ്പസുകളില്‍ നിന്നായി 15,000 ത്തോളം വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ ക്യാമ്പയിനിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കും. കോര്‍പ്പറേഷന്‍, മുനിസിപ്പാലിറ്റി, പഞ്ചായത്ത് തലത്തില്‍ ധനസമാഹരണത്തിനായി വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ തെരുവിലേക്കിറങ്ങും. വിവിധ കോളേജുകളിലെ എന്‍.എസ്.എസ്സിന്റെ സഹകരണത്തോടെയാണ് ക്യാമ്പയിന്‍ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്.

തെരുവില്‍ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ പുനരധിവാസത്തിന് 2020 ല്‍ ജില്ലാ ഭരണകൂടത്തിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ ആരംഭിച്ച പദ്ധതിയാണ് ഉദയം. 2000 ത്തോളം പേരെ ഇതുവരെ പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി പുനരധിവസിപ്പിച്ചു. വെള്ളിമാടുകുന്ന്, ചേവായൂര്‍, വെസ്റ്റ്ഹില്‍ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലായാണ് ഉദയം ഹോം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നത്. ഇതിനോടകം 250ഓളം അന്തേവാസികളെ വീടുകളിൽ തിരിച്ചെത്തിച്ചു. ഹോമില്‍ എത്തിച്ചേരുന്നവര്‍ക്ക് മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട ജീവിത സാഹചര്യം, താമസം, ഭക്ഷണം, ചികിത്സ, അടിസ്ഥാന ആവശ്യങ്ങള്‍ എന്നിവ ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തുന്നുണ്ട്. നിലവിൽ മൂന്ന് ഹോമുകളിലെയും അന്തേവാസികളുടെ ഭക്ഷണം, ശാരീരിക, മാനസിക ആരോഗ്യ പരിരക്ഷ, കൗൺസലിംഗ്, കിടപ്പാടം എന്നിവയ്ക്കായി വർഷം 1.8 കോടി രൂപയാണ് ചെലവ് വരുന്നത്.
കലക്ടറുടെ ചേമ്പറില്‍ നടന്ന വാര്‍ത്താ സമ്മേളനത്തില്‍ ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി കലക്ടര്‍ ഇ അനിത കുമാരി, ഉദയം സ്‌പെഷ്യല്‍ ഓഫീസര്‍ ഡോ. ജി രാഗേഷ് എന്നിവര്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു.

'Udayam' rehabilitated 2000 people who were left on the streets
Kozhikode: District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh announced in a press conference that a 'one day for Kozhikode without street life' campaign will be held on January 31 to raise funds for the welfare of the inmates of Udayam and to inculcate social responsibility among the students to bring the Udayam project to more people, which is an exemplary work in the country.
The collector said that everyone should cooperate to make the fundraising campaign a success for a street-free Kozhikode. Around 15,000 students from around 150 campuses in the district will be part of the campaign. Students will take to the streets to collect funds at the corporation, municipality and panchayat levels. The campaign is organized with the collaboration of NSS of various colleges.
Udayam is a scheme launched in 2020 under the leadership of the district administration for the rehabilitation of those abandoned on the streets. Around 2000 people have been resettled as part of the project so far. Udayam Home operates in Vellimadukun, Chevayur and Westhill. Around 250 inmates have already been brought back to their homes. Those arriving at the home are provided with better living conditions, accommodation, food, treatment and basic needs. At present, the cost of food, physical and mental health care, counseling and bedding for the inmates of the three homes is Rs 1.8 crore per annum.
